Take a boat tour to Hart-Miller Island! This special autumn adventure is an important fund raiser for Patterson Park Audubon, and is one of the new field trips offered through the Baltimore Birding Weekend. Thanks to our partners at GreenPort of Baltimore for their support of this exciting field trip!

The island was created as a containment facility for sediment dredged from the access channels to the Baltimore Harbor, and has been restored to provide wildlife habitat. More than 215 species have been recorded here in October! We will be searching for migrating shorebirds, songbirds, and early arriving waterfowl.

We’ll meet at the dock at 9:00 a.m. and be transported by boat to and from Hart-Miller Island. Once on site, we’ll board a bus to tour the island for birding and learning about its unique history and construction. The boat returns to the dock at 1:00 p.m.
