Winter ABBW 2018 Recap

We had a wonderful weekend bird watching with you in Baltimore in February! Thanks to our guests, guides, volunteers, sponsors, local journalists, boat captains, crew, bartenders, servers, park staff, and everyone who made the inaugural Winter Baltimore Birding Weekend a success! Although the weather presented some challenges, the fun and excitement from everyone who participated made this a weekend to remember.

Most of all, thanks to the 61 species of birds that we tallied throughout the weekend’s field trips in Charm City. We had great looks at several species of waterfowl, songbirds, and raptors, including a very rare Painted Bunting at Masonville Cove! A complete species list and photos from the weekend are available here.

Thanks to our friends at the Baltimore Sun, Latin Opinion and WBFF Fox 45, we were able to share our stories about Baltimore birding and the work of the Patterson Park Audubon Center with a wide audience.
